"Have you always wanted to make music?" Well, you`ve come to the right place! At Kay`s Music Studio, located in Sullivan, Missouri, we offer lessons in voice, piano, violin, guitar, all wind and percussion instruments. Students taking private lessons meet with their teacher once a week for a 30 minute session. We teach children and adults. No one is too old to learn the joy of making music.
"Where do I get books for my lesson," you might ask. Look no further. At Kay`s Music Studio we have all the material you will need for your adventure in music. You`ll get your books at your first lesson.
"How much do music lessons cost?" We pride ourselves in offering quality music education at a great value. Private teaching tuition is $40 - $80 monthly depending on the teacher. Tuition for the month is due at the first lesson of each month. We cannot schedule make-up lessons. However, if the teacher should cancel the lesson, the lesson will be re-scheduled at the convenience of the student. There is a $40 registration fee due each school year. The studio`s teacahing year is from August through June.
"How much should I practice?" is an often-asked question. The amount of time you practice will best be determined by your private teacher. Generally, students nine and older need to practice at least a half hour five days of the week. Students under nine should practice their lesson assignment three to five times daily.
Beginning students are very enthusiastic about practicing. Soon though, the novelty wears off and practice begins to suffer. For younger students it is imperative that their parents encourage practice. Students who make practice a part of their daily routine will become successful musicians.
We offer an incentive program for elementary students. Students recieve Kay Kash for each day they practice. They can then spend their practice money at our own KayMart. This is a very popular concept for both parents and children.
"Where can I find a musical instrument?" Kay`s Music Studio rents and sells wind, string and percussion instruments at reasonable prices. We also stock reeds, strings, instrument lubricants, mouthpieces, music stands and other musical accessories. We use our experience to help you select the best products at the best prices.
Besides private lessons, Kay`s Music Studio provides quality music education for homeschoolers. Homeschool classes meet once each week. We offer Elementary Choir, Beginning Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Handbells, Violin and Guitar Classes, Beginning Harp, Kindermusik, Art and Concert Choir. Homeschool tuition is $25 monthly per class. To assist our larger homeschool families we offer a tuition package that allows unlimited participation in all programs for $125 monthly.
We offer our students the very best in classical music education. A proper foundation in the fundamentals of music will be a strong basis for any style - classical, contemporary or Christian. Church music and jazz improvisation are also skills that we teach at Kay`s Studio. In addition we offer the latest in music technology - from digital recording to composition.
"What makes Kay`s Music Studio different from other music studios?" First, we don`t really teach music - we teach people. They are the focus of all we do. We custom design each student`s education to fit their personal goals. It is our passion and our calling to pass on the love of music that God has given us. Secondly, we offer a professional learning environment with five private classrooms and a large 1800 square foot rehearsal hall which also doubles as our recital venue. We supply our teachers with the best equipment and music that money can buy. Thirdly, our students are given many opportunities to display their musical talent through recitals, compeitions and festivals. Our recitals are indeed very special and accented with great props, scenery, lighting and costuming. We make them fun and inviting. Lastly, we are not simply a piano studio. At Kay`s Music Studio you can explore many instruments and many styles of music. We believe in developing well-rounded musicians so they might make music an integral part of their life. It is fantastic when one of our students becomes a professional musician, but it is our philosophy that every student should develop his personal gift regardless of his potential.
